R-amen! to the bowls of comfort at Tonkotsu

Nestled alongside the chaos of Stratford’s Westfiled, sits a Tonkotsu. Known for its reliable bowls of ramen, it’s a functional restaurant experience, in tune with the likes of Wagamama and Nando’s, perfect for ease rather than refined dining.

Sat at the window of the restaurant, bar style, we overlooked passersby on their way to performances at either West Ham’s Olympic Stadium or the recently launched Sadler’s Wells Theatre. Much like its surroundings, the menu offers variety and seasonality (althrough I’m sure everyone goes for the classic, Tonkotsu). The in and out of deliveroo drivers through the door, each with a brilliantly packaged Tonkotsu branded paper bag, proved the popularity of ramen on any given day.

brand is fun and inviting with pops of colour used across the menu to highlight favourites and photos to bring dishes to life. The table was peppered with a few neat postcard holders, offering specials and upselling deals. The sense of play and flexibility is also brought to life across their friendly and informative service, alongside deliciously reliable food.
