Breaking Bread at Mercato Metropolitano Mayfair

Mercato Mayfair is set in the Grade I-listed St Mark’s Church. It’s a vibrant hub of food and festivity, offering food from Mexican to Italian, to East Asian, a choice for everyone.

The Mercato Metropolitano movement was founded on the belief that nutritious, sustainable food should be accessible to everyone. Set in three locations, each Mercato offers a collection of passionate small-scale artisans, celebrating diversity through food in all its forms. Their Manifesto embodies a strong belief in the future of sustainable produce and celebrating community through food.

Tucked just off Oxford Street, Mercato Mayfair brings vibrancy and life to the architecturally impressive church. We wondered if there’s ever been issues with the market being in a church, but perhaps it rather embodies the Christian beliefs of “breaking bread” both physically and metaphorically. It breathes life into the community that far extends Sunday service.

The brand pops up with plenty of character across wayfinding and wall graphics, sharing a fun personality. Big messaging across wall graphics helps to share their community driven purpose, could perhaps be in line with the industrial and slick lightbox signage of each stall. Seasonally, there’s even an opportunity to post your very important letter to Santa using the ‘Mercato Mail postbox.

Start with a Bao bun, tuck into a taco and finish with a Basque Cheesecake for the world tour.
