A miracle? Plants!
Up the stairs and through the (disappointingly) artificial ferns, you’ll reach the oasis of Mallow. Nestled behind Borough Market in a light and bright London townhouse, it offers a bubbling moment of calm from the market’s hustle and bustle.
As a younger, more expensive sister of the iconic and award-winning Mildred’s, it has a lot to live up to, and it did. The menu promised imaginative plant-based food, and delivered; flavours and textures popped with beautiful simplicity.

The refined dining experience promises to minimise waste and source ingredients from suppliers on their doorstep. Nature-inspired textures throughout the restaurant, covering everything from wall graphics to textured paper stock, reinforce this vision with a pink twist. Perhaps it features some ‘expected’ natural visual cues, but they were all thoughtfully curated brand touchpoints – even the business card can be strategically placed.
Give it a try; you might be surprised that plants are delicious.
