Culture, Cuisine, and Conscience

Located in Kingly Court, Carnaby, London, this restaurant is the creation of renowned Damascus-born chef Imad Alarnab. Drawing inspiration from traditional Syrian courtyard homes, its interior design captures the essence of Syrian architecture, offering a warm and vibrant brand experience where guests can enjoy food, music, and dancing.

Making full use of the restaurant’s high ceilings, a range of Syrian arch designs continues a visual theme inspired by traditional Syrian architecture. Several Syrian artists were commissioned to create bespoke pieces, including hand-painted miniature murals. The essence of a Syrian kitchen comes to life through a smoked glass partition that allows guests to enjoy subtle glimpses of movement as Imad and his team prepare their food.

The food is full of flavour, delicious, and generously portioned. The staff are incredibly warm and attentive, making you feel right at home. The whole atmosphere is vibrant, lively and, for a moment, it’s like you’ve been transported somewhere else entirely, thanks to both the food and the setting.

The big takeaway for the team was that social impact is at the heart of the brand experience. Imad’s Syrian Kitchen stands out not just for its food but also for its purpose, as it donates a portion of every bill to refugee charities and actively supports displaced communities. It’s a brand that invites customers to be part of something meaningful, with every meal supporting a mission. This combination of culture, cuisine, and conscience makes Imad’s Syrian Kitchen one of London’s most compelling restaurant brands.
