A taste of Sri Lanka in Soho
Hoppers Soho (there are two other locations in London) delivers a fun and immersive brand experience that takes guests straight to the heart of Sri Lanka and South India. From entering the restaurant, its design is complemented by vintage travel posters and Tamil script, setting the tone for a cultural and culinary journey. The compact restaurant evokes the business of a street-side eatery, strengthening Hoppers’ brand identity as an authentic dining destination.

The service style is casual and knowledgeable. Our waiter guided us through a menu from signature hoppers and dosas to fiery karis and sambols, ensuring that even as first-time visitors, we felt welcomed and informed. The personalised interaction made our experience an engaging one rather than simply transactional.

From the Tamil movie song playlist to the use of traditional serving ware (neatly marked with the brand) contributed to a coherent brand narrative rooted in heritage. Hoppers is stylish and authentic. We shared a mix of small plates, which gave a better chance to sample more dishes. Even after the visit, the connection continues; we received a follow-up email (automated but warmly written) expressing gratitude and suggesting a visit to another location. It’s part of a three-restaurant group, so this subtle nudge both promotes the brand and extends the sense of hospitality beyond a single visit. The result is a memorable, multi-sensory experience that encourages repeat visits and word-of-mouth recommendations.
