A sky-high feast of flavour and friendly service
Duck & Waffle, perched on the 40th floor of 110 Bishopsgate, is one of those London spots where the journey up is almost as memorable as the meal itself (our ears popped with the speed of the lift). Even on what turned out to be one of the wettest days of the year, the vast expanse of windows created a dramatic atmosphere, with the city blurred beneath sheets of rain. Inside, the festive Christmas decorations added warmth and sparkle, creating a cosy contrast to the storm outside. The open kitchen provided an energetic backdrop, while the lounge bar (with an open central bar) buzzed with chatter.
The service (as well as the views) was a key standout for us. The waitstaff were friendly, engaging, and genuinely fun to talk to, striking the perfect balance between attentive and relaxed. And a true asset to the brand experience. Although the restaurant operates on a 90-minute dining window, it never felt rushed; in fact, the team handled everything with such grace that time passed easily. When we weren’t quite ready to finish, they politely offered the option to enjoy dessert in the bar area, a friendly nudge to vacate the table, rather than an order.
And of course, the food lived up to the occasion. The signature Duck & Waffle dish was as indulgent and satisfying as its reputation promises – a crispy-soft, sweet-savoury combination that feels both playful and refined. Paired with the ambience, the décor, the open kitchen theatre and that rain-streaked skyline, the whole experience was memorable for all the right reasons. Even with the view partially obscured, it remained a cracking visit. One that proves Duck & Waffle delivers atmosphere and enjoyment no matter the weather.
